An abomination of mats...
An abomination of mats...
So what happens when you mix a thousand gold in potions, flasks, and elixirs with an abomination? A dead undead.
Not much can be said about this fight that hasn't already been said. You can insert the customary bitch about the cost of actually learning this fight, not to mention repeating the kill while still meeting the break-even point of not quite enough gear versus overgeared for the encounter. You can add in the standard complaint about how the fight is a boring skill-less spam fest by all classes. And go ahead and toss in the bitch about how even once this fight is down, it's still going to take one large amount of farming to repeat it.
However, all that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed working through the fight's numbers. Figuring out who should be healing which tank, the correct balance of classes and spells on each tank, how they should be healing, and how much mana they should need to burn to do so. Then trying to meet the line that's just reachable for the necessary mana consumption versus damage needed to take Patchwerk down. And I must say, the fight itself is an intense six minutes as a tank - praying that you get just enough hitpoints before that next Hateful Strike comes your way...

Since we had leftover time on our potions, we decided to play some frogger and pay Grobbulus a visit. Three pulls later and he laid dead as well. As you can see, our kill was pretty close. Hopefully everybody will actually understand where to run next week. All in all, an extremely fun fight and the kill will be easily repeateable. Most people picked up on the fight rather quickly and we managed an extremely clean run on the kill up until the last 15% or so. We are definitely now looking forward to getting some quality learning in on bosses that don't require a fuck-ton of consumables; and possibly starting some serious attempts on C'thun.
